Tea Making

As you are all aware, it has been very difficult to find someone willing to come in every week to prepare our tea and biscuits.   Consequently it was decided to ask the groups to do this and also for those members not belonging to a particular group to volunteer occasionally.    So far this new system has worked well.

However, it would be appreciated that in addition to making the tea, the nominated group would come to the meeting a little earlier in order to prepare the cups and saucers as per the following timetable:-

2 p.m.

Arrival.   Get out all the cups and saucers, fill the kettles, put 12 tea bags in the large teapot and 8 tea bags in the smaller one.   Lay out a plate of biscuits.

2.20 p.m.

Just before the meeting starts, put the kettles on a low gas so they will be ‘cooking’ gently during the talk.

3.15 p.m.

Quietly leave the meeting to make the tea.

3.30 p.m.

Have tea ready at the hatch for members.

This will be followed by washing up and putting away the china.

Everything will be provided and we appreciate that it will be difficult for some members to help.      Nevertheless, if we all ‘do our bit' it will make time for the committee to do other things.
