One-act play contribution to U3A's programme

The Playreading Group was the featured entertainment at the general meeting of Tuesday 28th April,

2009. Four lady members performed the one-act play "The Little Evenings" by Diana Morgan. From left

they are Peggy Spicer, Betty Boote, Pat Shepherd and Pauline Briggs. Roy Briggs (pictured right)

helped with sound effects. The producer was group leader Jeanette Rothwell. The play was about four

widows and their enjoyment of their bridge evening, accompanied by alcohol, canapes and a very

little gambling!

Musical chairs in Michael Frayn comedy

Michael Frayn's unusual comedy An Audience, performed here
by the group, involved some hilarious misunderstandings about
theatre seats. Applause was generous.

Producer Jeanette Rothwell, who is

also the Playreading Group's

leader, conducts a rehearsal.
